Registration & Fees
Once you are ready to join, you can complete your registration 100% online within 10 minutes HERE. Scouting is a valuable program, and with value comes the financial investment needed to keep it running smoothly. There are three fees: national and council dues, pack dues, and the uniform (ideally, only needs to be purchased once or twice)
National and Council Dues:
- $85/year paid to the national organization Scouting America
- $85/year paid to the Pacific Skyline Council
- $5.55 administrative fee
- Total: $175.55
These expenses cover big-ticket items such as council staff, facilities, leadership training programs, outdoor camping sites for scouting, insurance, and more. This fee is paid annually. Scouting America will begin sending you reminders 60 days prior to your 12-month expiration date.
Note: Our pack sees none of this money. All of it goes to Scouting America or Pacific Skyline Council
Pack Dues:
- $250 for the whole year
- Covers: materials, space rentals, pinewood derby cars, den meetings, pack meetings, neckerchief, slide, leadership fees, and more
- Dues can be paid the following ways:
- $250 by cash, personal check, or money order
- $258 (includes a 3% transaction fee) directly to our Pack PayPal account @fcpack447
- Dues are required to be paid within 30 days of registering to continue your participation
- For families who have difficulties paying, please privately message us, and we will be happy to work something out with you.
Activities: Our pack occasionally hosts activities, such as tours or campouts, that incur additional costs, and participation is completely optional. For example, tickets to the minor-league hockey games our pack has previously attended were $28/ticket for center ice.
Uniforms: about $100 total. Our pack only asks that you purchase the shirt and belt. For kindergarteners, they wear a Lion T-shirt. For grades 1-4, the blue BSA button-up shirt is appropriate. For grade 5, the tan button-up BSA shirt is the standard. 4th graders have the option to “graduate” to the tan shirt during this school year if they prefer. BSA pants and hat are optional. Scouts may wear other blue or green pants or jeans in Pack 447. Pack dues cover the neckerchief and slide, so families do not need to purchase those.
